Make a difference…

A real chance to make a difference, to help support health initiatives in your local community and showcase your communication and marketing skills.

We are planning some significant changes to the PPG (Patient participation Group) and need someone with the right skills to help us in multiple ways to improve our communications.

These include:

  • Branding
  • Social Media
  • Content Creation
  • Team Building
  • Data Analysis

Suggested Time Commitment: 2-3 hours per week

Organisation: The Village Surgeries PPG (Patient Participation Group). The organisation acts on behalf of the patients attending the GP Surgeries run by The Village Surgeries in .Harpenden and Wheathampstead. The PPG runs a series of free health talks given by consultants at the top of their field and produces a newsletter.

Tasks

  • Devise communications strategy to broaden engagement with patients
  • Advise and implement rebranding of organisation from Village Surgeries PPG to the Friends of the Village Surgeries PPG
  • Rebrand and update existing website at https://fotvs.org/
  • Set up social media channels for rebranded organization
  • Advertise the PPG’s free Health Talks via website, social media and email
  • Create initiatives to build a team that undertakes consistent communications activity, examples include:
    • Social media posting
    • Analysis of NHS metrics to determine Surgery performance
    • Research and write articles for newsletters and website
    • Interview and document patient experiences for newsletters and website
    • Interview and document Surgery staff experiences for newsletters and website
  • Create teams of volunteers for various areas with specific tasks:
    • Social Media posting: find 1-2 individuals willing to give approx. 2 hours per month
    • Content creation: find 1-2 individuals willing to give approx. 2 hours per month
    • Data analysis: find 1-2 individuals willing to give approx. 2 hours per month
  • Take part in PPG Committee meetings (approximately every two months)
